ALBANY -- Walker leaned on Lane Thomas’ dominance, scratched out an unearned to pull even and then blazed past Albany with the long ball Tuesday on the way to a 6-1 victory.
GONZALES -- Live Oak grabbed a quick lead and made six hits do enough damage with Bailey Simoneaux on the mound in a season-opening 4-1 victory at East Ascension on Tuesday.
There are always new challenges when a season begins. Having to manage things like complacency and not living too much on the past, well, those can certainly test a coach.
Coaches get used to the cyclical nature of their sport. One group of seniors leaves, another group moves in and different legacies begin to take shape.
