WALKER -- Walker coach Korey Arnold gave those in attendance at Tuesday's game with Belaire a look into the program's future.

Arnold emptied his bench late in the second half, and a number of his younger players delivered in a 50-20 win.

That came after the veterans set the table.

The Lady Cats jumped out to a 21-7 lead heading into the second quarter, paced by Breanna Zeringue, who scored all of her 15 points in the first quarter, most of which came on transition baskets.

Arnold went to his bench in the second quarter as the Lady Cats stretched the lead to 26-7.

Belaire hit a pair of 3-pointers to cut the lead to 28-13, but Victoria Smith's basket keyed an 8-0 burst which was fueled by Lady Bengal turnovers to close out the first half with Walker up 38-13.

The Lady Bengals outscored Walker 2-0 in the third quarter as Walker worked the ball around on its possessions, a number of which ended in turnovers.

Arnold made wholesale substitutions to start the fourth quarter, going with a young lineup that went on a 12-5 burst to close out the game.

Madison Zeigler hit a pair of 3-pointers, and Brianna Moore had another during the run

Twelve players scored for the Lady Cats (27-6, 4-1 District 4-5A), who will entertain Denham Springs High at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
