WATSON – Live Oak made quick and short work of Belaire on Friday, wrapping up the 2017-18 regular season with a 47-25 victory.

The Lady Eagles roared to a 23-2 lead in the first quarter and cruised from there, with reserves gobbling up most of the second-half-minutes.

Carson Felder and Dijone Flowers led the first-quarter onslaught with 8 ad 7 points respectively. Felder finished with 12 points to pace Live Oak (16-13, 2-4 District), while Flowers notched 9 before her night ended early.

Belaire (4-14, 0-6) showed some life in the second quarter with 11 points, but not enough to keep the Lady Eagles from racing to a 35-13 halftime advantage.

Neither team did much damage in the second half with only 12 points apiece.

Going into the game, the Lady Eagles were No. 20 in the unofficial 5A power ratings on LouisianaPreps.com, which would get them in comfortably to the postseason, but on the road. If those power ratings stay true, Live Oak could be bound for a road trip to Shreveport to take on Southwood.

The official pairings will be unveiled on Monday.
